LUCANIA. Herakleia. Circa 433-330 BC. Diobol (Silver, 11.5 mm, 1.04 g, 12 h). Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a hippocamp. Rev. HP Herakles kneeling to right, head facing, strangling the Nemean lion which he grips in his arm with a choke hold. HN III 1379. Van Keuren 53. With a magnificent reverse! Flan somewhat irregular, otherwise, good very fine.
