Plato, Metropolitan of Tarsos, mid to late 7th century. Seal or Bulla (Lead, 22 mm, 15.91 g, 12 h). O AΓIOC - ΠAYLOC /TAPCOY Facing bust of Apostolos Paulos. Rev. +ΠΛA-TΩNOC MHTPOΠ-OΛHTOY in four lines within doted margin. Zacos -. but cf. Zacos I 2965a for a more common seal of another Metropolitan of Tarsos. Attractive portrait details for metal; brown-reddish surfaces. Very fine.
