Leo IV the Khazar, with Constantine VI, 775-780. Solidus (Gold, 22 mm, 4.39 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 778-780. LЄOҺ VSSЄqqOҺ COҺSτAҺτI O ҺЄOS (last S vertical) Crowned figures of Leo IV, bearded and on the left, and Constantine VI, beardless and on the right, wearing chlamys and seated facing on a lyre-backed throne; between their heads, cross. Rev. LЄOҺ PAP COҺSτAҺτIҺOS PAτHR Crowned equal sized bearded busts of Leo III, on the left, and Constantine V, on the right, facing and wearing loros; between their heads, cross and pellet. DOC 2. SB 1584. A nicely centered, lustrous and of an unusual fine style for the series, solidus. Nearly very fine.
