CILICIA. Mallos (?). Tiribazos, satrap, 388-380 BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 0.68 g, 3 h). Head of Aphrodite to right. Rev. Head of Tiribazos to right, wearing satrapal headdress (bashlyk). SNG Levante 193 ( this obverse die, [published as of being from an uncertain mint] ). Very rare. Clear and attractive. Very fine.

This piece shows an interesting variation on the bashlyk, especially when compared to the way it appears on most other known examples of the type. For the attribution to Mallos, see CNG e-Sale 383, 2016, 216 (a good suggestion but it probably ought to remain 'uncertain mint').
