TROAS. Antandros. late 5th century BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 1.01 g, 7 h). Head of Artemis Astyrene (?) wearing taenia to right. Rev. ANTAN Head of lion to right, turned slightly toward the front with the left eye very slightly visible; all within a shallow incuse square. SNG von Aulock 7582 var. and SNG Tübingen 2555 var. ( later type without incuse square on reverse ). Extremely rare, and with a very attractive and well-made reverse. Obverse pitted and scratched, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
