ATTICA. Athens. Circa 449-404 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 23 mm, 17.22 g, 7 h), 430s. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet adorned with three olive leaves and palmette, round earring and pearl necklace. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing; behind, olive spray and crescent moon; all within incuse square. Cf. Sv. pl. 14, 10. Attractive and with much of the crest on Athena's helmet visible. Minor defects on the obverse, otherwise, about extremely fine.
