LUCANIA. Metapontum. Circa 330-290 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 19.5 mm, 7.78 g, 2 h), Ly.... Head of Demeter to right. Rev. META Ear of barley with feaf to right; ΛΥ below to left, and star of sixteen rays above leaf. HN III 1592. Johnston Class C. 8.1-2 ( this obverse die ). Sharply struck and bright; a beautiful coin. Nearly extremely fine.
