THRACE. Ainos. Circa 412/1-410/09 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 16.03 g, 10 h). Head of Hermes to right, a wearing close-fitting petasos with a knob at the top and beads along the edge. Rev. ΑΙΝ-Ι Goat standing to right; to right, kerykeion; all within incuse square. May, Ainos, 255 (A156/R167). SNG Lockett 1157 ( same dies = May 255a ). Attractive, of good style, well-centered and well-struck, and with a pleasing dark patina as found. About extremely fine.
