THRACE. Hadrianopolis. Antoninus Pius, 138-161. AE (Bronze, 29.5 mm, 17.54 g, 6 h). ΑV ΚΑΙ Τ ΑΙ ΑΔΡΙΑ ΑΝΤΩΝΕΙΝΟϹ Bareheaded bust of Antoninus Pius to right. Rev. ΑΔΡΙΑΝΟ - ΠΟΛΕΙΤΩΝ Nude Apollo Citharoedus standing facing, resting his right forearm upon his head, and his left forearm atop his lyre and its pedastal. Cf. RPC IV.1, 10590 ( temporary ) for closest type comparison. Seemingly unpublished and unique, and with an artistic composition of Apollo on the reverse. Minor roughness, otherwise, nearly very fine.
