SICILY. Kamarina. Circa 480-450 BC. Litra (Silver, 9 mm, 0.58 g). Open mussel seen from above. Rev. Wheel of four spokes. Buceti 34 ( Himera ). G. Manganaro, Dai mikrà kermata di argento al chalkokratos kassiteros in Sicilia nel V. sec. A.C., JNG 34, 1984, 25, and note 48. NAC 23, 2002, 1081 ( with note giving C. Boehringer's attribution to Kamarina ). SNG Lloyd 1031 ( Himera ). Weber 1354 ( Kamarina ). Very rare. Porous and with some corrosion, otherwise, good fine.
