MEROVINGIANS, Sarthe. Le Mans. Circa 585-675. Triens (Gold plated copper or bronze, 13 mm, 0.95 g, 6 h), Leoduva(?),moneyer. CENOMAN Stylized head to right; above, small cross. Rev. + LEODVVA Cross. Apparently unpublished in the standard references. Very rare. Core visible at some spots, otherwise, extremely fine.
From the Childeric Collection of Merovingian Coinage, acquired from CGB.
This and the subsequent lot seem to be the only coins known from this moneyer from Le Mans.
