Medal (Copper, 40.5 mm, 33.35 g, 12 h), in honour of the Constitution offered by Britain to the Ionian Islands in 1817, struck between 1818 and 1820 from dies by A. J. Depaulis, plain edge. Britannia seated left, placing her extended right hand on the tablets of the Constitution, and with her left resting on a shield decorated with the Union Jack; in background to right, statue of Neptune on garlanded base; above, MDCCCXVII (date in Latin); in the exergue, ENGLAND GIVES A / CONSTITUTION TO. Rev. Seven draped female figures, representing the seven Ionian islands, dancing around a British flag; on the right, in tiny letters close to the rim, DEPAULS F.; in the exergue, THE IONIAN ISLANDS; below, in tiny letters, MUDIE D..
