★ Goddess Segetia ★
Salonina, Augusta, 254-268. Antoninianus (Silver, 24 mm, 3.36 g, 7 h), Struck under Gallienus, Cologne, 257-258. SALONINA AVG Diademed and draped bust of Salonina to right, set on a crescent. Rev. DEAE SE-GETIAE Segetia standing facing within tetrastyle temple, both hands raised. Cohen 36. MIR 902c. RIC 5. Struck on fine silver. Struck from a somewhat worn reverse die, otherwise, extremely fine.
The goddess Segetia was invoked at seed time to guarantee a good agricultural season.
