★ Very rare and early Thraco-Macedonian Stater ★

THRACO-MACEDONIAN TRIBES, Mygdones or Krestones. Circa 490-485 BC. Stater (Silver, 19 mm, 9.12 g). Goat kneeling right on pelleted ground line, his head turned back to left; a tiny pellet, above, below and before the goat. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. AMNG III/2 18.2 (As Aigai). HGC 366 (R1, "Aigai"). Svoronos pl. III, 10. Very rare early example; centered and struck on high relief. Slightly porous, otherwise, very fine.
