Description
LUCANIA. Velia. Circa 340-334 BC. Nomos (Silver, 22 mm, 7.52 g, 2 h), from the "Θ" group. Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Attic helmet decorated with a griffin. Rev. YEΛHTΩN Lion walking to right; above, Φ. HN III 1287. SNG Ashmolean 1128-9 ( same dies ). Williams 296 (O164/R2228). Rough surfaces and graffiti, otherwise, nearly very fine.
