Constantine VI & Irene, 780-797. Solidus (Gold, 20 mm, 4.39 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 780-790. S IRIhI AVΓ' MI-THR Crowned facing busts of Constantine VI, on the left, wearing chlamys pinned at his right shoulder, globus cruciger in his right hand, and Irene, on the right, wearing loros and crown with four pinnacles and cross, transverse cruciform scepter in her left hand and globus cruciger in her right; between them, pellet; above, cross. Rev. COhStANtIhOS C' Ь' Δ' Leo III, Constantine V and Leo IV seated facing, each wearing crown and chlamys. DOC 1.2. Füeg C.2.1/Ir.2.15. SB 1593. Clear and well-centered. Graffito 'I' on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
