KINGS OF ARMENIA MINOR. Polemo II, with his queen, Julia Mamaea, 34/3-31/0 BC. Tetrachalkon (Bronze, 23 mm, 7.41 g, 7 h), uncertain mint in Armenia. Μ ΑΝΤΩΝΙΟΥ ΠΟΛΕΜΩΝΟΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΜΕΓ Diademed head of Polemo II to right. Rev. ΙΟΥΛΙΑΣ ΜΑΜΑΙΑΣ ΒΑΣΙΛΙΣΣΗΣ Diademed and draped bust of Julia Mamaea to right. Kovacs 298. RPC I 3844. Extremely rare - the fifth and finest known example. Nicely centered on a broad flan and with interesting portraits, clear and well-struck. Traces of corrosion, otherwise, very fine.
