Description

MYSIA. Kyzikos. Circa 500-450 BC. Stater (Electrum, 22 mm, 16.08 g). Conjoined heads of a lion to left and a ram to right; below, tunny to left. Rev. Quadripartite incuse square. BMFA 1422. SNG Paris 190 ( hekte ). Traité II, 2, 2725 and pl. CLXXVI, 6. Von Fritze I, 54 and pl. II, 4. Very rare. Nicely centered on a large flan, toned and exceptionally well preserved. Small flan crack on the obverse and scuff on the reverse, otherwise, good extremely fine.
