KYRENAICA. Kyrene. Circa 550-500 BC. Hemidrachm (Silver, 10 mm, 1.86 g). Silphium fruit with point downwards and stem above. Rev. Incuse square divided into 5 compartments. Cf. BMC 6 ( Drachm, for the reverse ), 7-8 ( for the denomination ). Extremely rare. Toned and clear. Very fine.
