THESSALY, Skotussa. Early to mid 4th century BC. Dichalkon (Bronze, 16 mm, 3.60 g, 12 h). Head of youthful, beardless Herakles to left, wearing lion skin headdress. Rev. Σ - ΚΟ /ΦΠΑ Forepart of bridled horse to right, his head slightly lowered; all within shallow circular incuse. BCD Thessaly I 1337 ( same dies ). HGC 4, 616. Rogers 541. SNG Copenhagen 255. Very rare. Unusually nice and with an attractive green patina. Good very fine.

This is quite a rare coin, mostly known in very poor condition. It served as a fraction to the more common silver hemidrachms bearing the same types.
