SICILY. Akragas. Circa 400-380 BC. Countermarked Hemilitron (Bronze, 27 mm, 19.71 g), countermarked on a worn flat hemilitron of Akragas with obliterated types. On the original obverse, large countermark bearing the head of a youthful Herakles to right, wearing a lion's skin headdress; all within a circular indent. Buceti 170 ( this coin. Calciati 92, CM 11. Bold. With a dark patina. Considerable pitting and marks on the original flan, otherwise, countermark: very fine/coin: fair.
