Description

LUCANIA. Poseidonia. Circa 500-470 BC. Obol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.58 g, 5 h). ΠΟΣ Poseidon, nude but for a cloak draped over his shoulders, striding to right, brandishing his trident in his upraised right hand. Rev. Octopus with six arms. HN III 1111. SNG ANS 632. Very rare. Toned. Very fine.
