ISLANDS OFF CARIA, Rhodos. Rhodes. Circa 404-385 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 24 mm, 14.98 g, 12 h). Head of Helios facing, turned slightly to the right. Rev. POΔION Rose with bud to left; in the field to left, Φ; in the right field, Boeotian shield; all within an incuse square. Ashton, Rhodes, 49. Hecatomnus 152-153. Pozzi 2683 = Rhousopoulos 4009 ( same reverse die ). HGC 6, 1418. Karl -. SNG Keckman -. With a head of Helios of remarkably fine style. Extremely rare with this symbol. Three examples recorded by Ashton. Some minor roughness, otherwise, about extremely fine.
