Description

IONIA. Uncertain mint. Circa 480-450 BC. Obol (Silver, 9 mm, 1.17 g). Head of a warrior to left, wearing crested helmet with raised ear guard. Rev. Rough quadripartite incuse square. ACNACS 5, Rosen, 388 ( this coin ). Traité II, 1, 716 and pl. XVIII, 21 ( as Kalymnos ). Extremely rare. Beautifully centered and with an attractive dark patina. About extremely fine.
