MYSIA. Lampsakos. Circa 500-450 BC. Diobol (Silver, 11 mm, 1.31 g). Forepart of a winged horse to left. Rev. Large quadripartite incuse square made up of two granulated and two plain squares in a windmill pattern to left. Baldwin, Lampsakos, pl. V, 3. CNG e321, 2014, 86 ( same dies ). SNG Paris 1119. Attractive and nicely toned. Nearly extremely fine.
From the "Collection sans Pareille" of Ancient Greek Fractions, ex Lanz, 153, 12 December 2011, 242.
Curiously enough, in the Lanz catalogue the then cataloguer described this coin as having 'heavily tooled fields'(!). With all due respect, and after having viewed the die identical CNG piece (cited above), no tooling is visible (!) and the coin seems a quite nice one!!
