BRUTTIUM. Kroton. Circa 300-250 BC. Diobol (Silver, 12 mm, 1.18 g, 12 h). ΚΡΟΤΩΝΙΑ-ΤΑ[Ν] Head of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet. Rev. ΟΙΚΙΣΤΑΣ Herakles standing to right, leaning on his club, wearing his lion's skin headdress on his head and hanging down from his shoulders. Unpublished save for its auction appearances. HN III 2200 = SNG ANS 427 var. ( lacking complete ethnic ). Seemingly unpublished with the complete ethnic, although several examples have been on the market. Attractively toned. Good very fine.
