THESSALY. Larissa. Circa 450/40-420 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19.5 mm, 6.08 g, 6 h). The hero Thessalos, with petasos and chlamys hanging around neck, restraining bull to left by band held around its head. Rev. ΛΑΡΙ-ΣΑΙΑ Bridled horse galloping to right; within a shallow incuse square. BCD Thessaly II 173-4. HGC 4, 420. Lorber, Thessalian 50. Fine style with realistic engraving. Minor porosity and a scratch on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
