GREEK COINS
BRUTTIUM
Kroton. Circa 300-250 BC. Octobol or Half stater (Silver, 16mm, 2.80 g 4), of reduced weight. Youthful and beardless male head to right, wearing a taenia. Rev. ΚΡΟ Owl with closed wings standing left; at feet to left, grain ear on stalk. HN III 2195. SNG ANS 421. SNG Copenhagen 1809. An attractive, sharply struck and very nicely toned example. Slightly misshapen flan, otherwise , extremely fine.
