Diadumenian, as Caesar, 217-218. Denarius (Silver, 20 mm, 3.87 g, 7 h), Rome, late July 217 - end February 218. M OPEL ANT DIADVMENIAN CAES Bareheaded, draped and cuirassed bust of Diadumenian to right. Rev. PRINC IVVENTVTIS Diadumenian, bare-headed and in military dress, standing left, his head turned back to right, holding a legionary standard with his right hand and a sceptre with his left; to right, two legionary standards. BMC 87. Cohen 3. RIC 102. Sharp and clear, with some lustre and a fine, and seemingly superbly realistic, portrait. Extremely fine.
