Geta, as Caesar, 198-209. Denarius (Silver, 19 mm, 3.41 g, 12 h), Laodicea ad Mare, 202. P SEPTIMIVS GETA CAES Bare-headed, draped and cuirassed bust of Geta to right. Rev. MINER VICTRIX Minerva standing to left, holding Victory in her extended right hand and reversed spear with her left; at her feet to left, shield; behind her to right, trophy of arms. BMC ( Septimius & Caracalla ) 749 var. ( bust not cuirassed ). Cohen 88. RIC 104 var. ( bust not cuirassed ). Elusive and interesting; among the best known examples of this type, and with an attractive portrait. Extremely fine.
