Description
Theodosius III of Adramytium, 715-717. Follis (Bronze, 23 mm, 3.07 g, 6 h), Syracuse. Crowned bust of Theodosius III facing, wearing loros, holding in right hand spear over right shoulder, and globus cruciger in left. Rev. Θ/SCL Large M between two palm branches; above, monogram of Theodosius. DOC 9. MIB 16. SB 1496. Very rare. Dark brown and green patina. Minor roughness in the field of the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
