IMP•CAESAR Octavian, wearing priestly robes, ploughing the sacred furrow with two yoked oxen to right. BMC 638. BN 92. Cohen 117. CRI 424. RIC 272. Light iridescent toning. Banker's mark on the obverse, otherwise, good very fine.
The reverse commemorates Octavian as city founder of Nikopolis in Epirus in 31 BC, located at the site of the battle of Actium in memory of his victory over Antony and Cleopatra.
