KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III 'the Great', 336-323 BC. Drachm (Silver, 18 mm, 3.93 g, 12 h), Kolophon, circa 310-301. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on backless throne, holding eagle in right hand and scepter in left; in field to left, monogram of KA; below throne, Φ. Price 1823. Light porosity and surface marks, otherwise, nearly extremely fine.
