MOESIA. Istros. 4th century BC. Hemiobol (Silver, 8 mm, 0.36 g). Two facing male heads side by side, one upright and the other inverted - a tête-bêche pair. Rev. ΙΣΤΡΙΗ Sea eagle standing left on dolphin. AMNG I 453. Cf. HGC 3.2, 1805-8 ( trihemiobols ). SNG BM Black Sea -. SNG Stancomb 136-7. Rare denomination. Struck from somewhat deteriorated dies, otherwise, very fine.
