CILICIA. Uncertain colonia . Augustus, BC 27 - 14 AD. (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.91 g, 7 h). Bare head (Octavian?) to right. Rev. Prow to right, below Q. RPC I 5411. FITA p. 13. Struck on a broad flan. Some cleaning marks and obverse slightly off center , otherwise, good very fine.
Although previously attributed to an uncertain Macedonian mint due to the presence of Q, those coins don't appear in the Macedonian region and thus the editors of RPC proposed a Cilician or Syrian origin for them based solely on the data from finds. Previously they were also attributed to both Caesar and Brutus!.
