MACEDON. Koinon of Macedon . Period of Gordian III, 238-244. Triassarion (Bronze, 26.5 mm, 9.86 g, 2 h), Beroea, year 275 = 244. AΛEΞANΔPOY Head of Alexander the Great to right wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. KOINON MAKEΔONΩN B NEΩ / EOC Athena (or Olympias) seated left, feeding a serpent coiled around tree to from a patera held in her right hand. Cf. AMNG 842 and 719. Well centered with fine green-brown patina. Good very fine.
