Description

PAPHLAGONIA. Sinope. Circa 410-350 BC. Drachm (Silver, 19 mm, 5.91 g, 4 h). Head of nymph to left, wearing a pearl earring, pearl necklace and with her hair bound in a sakkos. Rev. ΣINΩ Sea eagle on dolphin to left. HGC 7, 389. SNG BM Black Sea 1378. A rare early issue lacking a magistrate's name; nicely centered and of lovely style. Porous, otherwise, about extremely fine.
