ATTICA. Athens. Circa 500/490-485/0 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 22 mm, 17.01 g, 7 h). Head of Athena to right, her hair ending in large curls over her forehead, wearing Attic helmet with crest and a disc earring. Rev. [Α]ΘΕ Owl, with closed wings, standing to right, his head facing front; behind to left, olive sprig with two leaves and fruit. Cf. Seltman 185 (A127/P144 var.). Svoronos, Trésor, pl. 4, 39. A bold and attractive piece, with a very well-centered obverse. Slightly rough surfaces, otherwise, good very fine.
