CALABRIA. Tarentum. Circa 272-240 BC. Didrachm or nomos (Silver, 20 mm, 6.47 g, 12 h), struck under the magistrates Xeneas and Eu.... Horseman advancing to right, crowning his horse with a wreath held in his right hand, and holding the reins in his left; to right, EΥ; below horse, ΞΕΝ-ΕΑΣ. Rev. Τ-Α-ΡΑΣ Phalanthos seated on dolphin to left, holding a rhyton in his right hand and a trident with his left; to right, ear of grain on a stalk with leaf. HN III 1032. Vlasto 864 var. ( this obverse die, but ear of grain to the right). Scarce. Clear and well-centered. Good very fine.
