Michael VIII Palaeologus, 1261-1282. Trachy (Bronze, 24 mm, 2.46 g, 6 h), Constantinople. The Virgin Mary seated facing on throne, holding Christ medallion on breast; sigla: B | B. Rev. Michael, on the left, standing facing, holding right hand to beast and holdiking akakia in left, and the Archangel Michael, on the right, standing facing, embracing the emperor. DOC 59-63. SB 2263. Dark green patina. Very fine.
