From the Thomas Kirby Collection, USA.
Seleukid bronzes from the mint at Aï Khanoum are, in general, exceptionally rare. In the late 1990s, around 50 or so Aï Khanoum bronzes appeared on the market. Prior to that, they were practically unattainable, and there have been very few on the market since that time. There are several different varieties of Aï Khanoum bronzes in the Kirby collection, probably originating from the group that entered the market in the late 1990s.
