Description
Manuel I Comnenus, 1143-1180. Tetarteron (Bronze, 19 mm, 3.73 g, 6 h), Constantinople, 1143-1152(?). IC - XC Bust of Christ facing, wearing nimbus cruciger with single pellet in each arm, right hand raised in benediction, holding scroll in left. Rev. MANXHΛ ΔECΠ Bust of Manuel I facing, beardless, wearing crown with pendilia and loros, holding labarum in right hand, globus cruciger in left. DOC 14. SB 1967. Brown patina. Scratch on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
