PAPHLAGONIA. Sinope. Gordian III, 238-244. (Bronze, 28 mm, 12.12 g, 6 h), Dated year CCCVIII = 238/9. IMP GORDIANVS AVG Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III to right, seen from rear. Rev. C R I F S AN CCCVIII Draped bust of Sarapis wearing kalathos to left. RPC VII.2, 2781 ( same dies as the two coins depicted ). Very rare. Only three coins listed on RPC, of which just one in private hands. Nearly very fine.
