KINGS OF MACEDON. Alexander III ‘the Great’, 336-323 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25 mm, 16.89 g, 10 h), from the dekadrachm series, Babylon, circa 325-323. Head of Herakles to right, wearing lion's skin headdress. Rev. ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ Zeus seated left on low throne, holding long scepter in his left hand and, in his right, eagle standing right with closed wings; to left, sickle(?) above M; below throne, monogram. Price 3676. Minor porosity, and light scratches on the reverse, otherwise, good very fine.
