JUDAEA. Aelia Capitolina (Jerusalem). Macrinus, 217-218. Tetradrachm (Billon, 24 mm, 13.29 g, 12 h). AYT M OΠΛ C MAKPINOC C Laureate head of Macrinus to right. Rev. ΔHMAPX EΞ ΥΠATOC ΠΠ Εagle standing facing on filleted thyrsos, head left, with wings spread; vine leaf between legs. Meshorer, Aelia 97. Cf. Prieur 1637 ( obverse legend ). Unrecorded variety. Attractive and well struck. Flan a little tight, otherwise, good very fine.
