Justinian I, 527-565. Solidus (Gold, 21.5 mm, 4.47 g, 6 h), Constantinople, B = 2nd officina, 537-542. D N IVSTINI - ANVS P P AVG Diademed, helmeted and cuirassed bust of Justinian facing, holding cross on globe in his upraised right hand and with a shield bearing a horseman over his left shoulder. Rev. VICTORIA AVGGG B/ CONOB Angel standing facing, holding long jeweled cross in his right hand and a globus cruciger in his left; in field to right, star. DOC (8a). MIB 6. SB 139. Clear and well-struck. Die rust around the cross on the obverse, otherwise, extremely fine.
