ΑΥΤ Κ Μ ΑΝΤ ΓΟΡΔΙΑΝΟC ΑΥΓ Laureate, draped and cuirassed bust of Gordian III seen from behind. Rev. EΠI AYP ΑΠΟΛΛΩΝΙΔΟΥ /A/P/X/ ΓEΡΜΗΝΩ/N Emperor, in military dress, standing facing, his head to left, clasping, with his right hand, the left hand of Tyche, standing before him to left, and being crowned by Nike standing behind him to right. Ehling 203 (V1/R1) = RPC VII, 99 = SNG Righetti 716 ( same dies ). Voegtli 1j ( same obverse die ). Very rare, the better of two known examples. An impressive piece. Very slight double-striking and marks, otherwise, good very fine.
