Description

SASANIAN KINGS. Peroz I, 457/9-484. Dinar (Gold, 20 mm, 4.09 g, 3 h), NB or NY ( unlocated mint ). Degraded legend Crowned and cuirassed bust of Peroz I to right, ribbons rising from shoulders. Rev. "Peroz" ( in crude Pahlavi ) and mint signature Fire altar with attendants and ribbon; star and crescent flanking flames. Alram 883. Göbl III/1. De Morgan p. 705, 172 and pl. LXIII, 3 ( this coin ). Paruck 344 var ( legends ). Clear, sharp and toned. About extremely fine.
