Description

SPAIN. Bolskan - Osca. Circa 150-100 BC. Denarius (Silver, 17 mm, 3.88 g, 12 h). Bo Bearded male head to right, wearing pearl necklace. Rev. BoLSCaN Horseman with couched lance galloping to right. ACIP 1417. SNG BM Spain 710-33. Well-centered, sharply struck, and attractively toned. Extremely fine.

From the collection of a Nobleman who died in 1940, and possibly from that of the physiologist Max R. C. Verworn, ("Sammlung eines rheinischen Gelehrten") Cahn 49, 11 December 1922, 482 (with collector's ticket included).
