Description
CRETE. Polyrhenion. Circa 200-67 BC. Chalkous (Bronze, 12 mm, 1.38 g). Shield or pomeganate. Rev. Π-O/Λ-Y Spear head within wreathed border. Apparently unpublished! Cf. Svoronos, Numismatique pl XXVI, 14-15 for obverse die and pl XXVI, 16 for reverse die. SNG Copenhagen -. Rare type. Light deposits on the reverse, otherwise, very fine.
